Anything that is given to potential customers as a form of a marketing and communications campaign aiming to increase the sales of a particular item is called a promotional product. It is also known a promotional gift, promotional merchandise or promotional items. It increases the company’s brand identity which also serves as promotional advertising.

Many companies use promotional items that are customized to bear their company logo or texts of their brand names. Assorted products like these are usually seen in trade shows. The booth owners want to give something to the visitors which they can recall the company name even after they have left. The design of each promotional product is usually functional and unique at the same time to be appealing to the prospective customers. Most promotional products are small and need not to be expensive although there are occasions where companies prepare high-end and expensive corporate gifts like perfumes and gadgets so that desired clients such as celebrities may be photographed in a branding opportunity, consequently gaining publicity to the company’s product.
