Surfing Equipment & Accessories--Retail

There are many businesses retailing surf equipment such as board shorts, surfboards or wake boards, wetsuits and other accessories. Surfboards can come in a wide variety of types and sizes, including longboards, body boards, knee boards, stand up and paddle boards and boogie boards.

Surfboards can be sold by retail surf outlets, in sporting goods and department stores, or may be custom designed and built by a professional surfboard manufacturer and sold individually. Many popular surfing locations will have a number of surf shops, manufacturing and selling their own products. Wetsuits and surf clothing are often, although not necessarily, sold in conjunction with surfboards. Surf clothing in particular is sold as a fashion item in many other clothing retail stores. Wetsuits are a specialist item, usually sold only in surf shops and by wetsuit manufacturers, either online or through a retail outlet. As with surfboards, wetsuits can also be custom fitted and manufactured.

Other surf accessories such as board covers, leg ropes, waxes and coatings, paddles. Surf clothing manufacturers will often have extended men’s, women’s and children’s accessories ranges. These ranges can include sunglasses, watches, jewellery, wallets, belts, thongs, sandals, bags and back packs, swimwear and shoes.
