Brooks Hire commenced in 1979 when Doug Brooks purchased two u/s compressors on bankcard. In 1982 Doug purchased the first piece of mobile plant an 8 tonne JEC crane, by tender, which Doug drove to Eneabba. At the time of buying the crane, Doug was operating the business from a shed at Eneabba working 18 hour days and living 5 days a week in a humpy at the back of a shed.

Grid Drilling Pty Ltd was established in 2010 by Wayne Gridley, a driller of 30 plus years. His experience has been mineral exploration including water bore drilling in many countries. He drills as an owner operator and employs other experienced drillers to provide a complete service of water boring and mineral exploration.

Waterson Diesel has over 14 years experience in the heavy earthmoving industry starting off as a diesel fitting firm in 1999. Waterson Diesel comes from a strong Gladstone family background in the industry and mining areas, continuing on high industry standards, as was started by Darren’s Grandfather Cyril Golding from Golding Contractors.

Starting in 1996, Terry and Kym Purcell, locally owned and operated their business from scratch with a Ute, a trailer, and a shed. Over the next 15 years their business has developed into one of the largest and most well-equipped machine shops and line boring businesses in the CQ region supporting the local community, local industry, and the Queensland mining industry.
