New Finish Concreting

Jack was quick to come out to quote and complete the job once I gave him the go ahead. After completion, there were a couple of things I wasn’t happy with, but he came back to rectify. Overall happy with the outcome, but communication could have been a bit better.

Sloppy, rushed and unprofessional and I’ll be taking the matter further as Jack refuses to respond to my many messages hoping to resolves some of the MANY issues. This isn’t just a ‘you get what you pay for’ job either as Jacks quote came in on par/similar to others.



- Concrete splatters and smears all over my brickwork and fence (evidently couldn’t be bothered doing something as simple as wiping the fence down with a wet rag while it was fresh) - covering the span of a few metres!

- Plain concrete clumps and footprint marks all over my existing coloured concrete (because they didn’t put a sheet or something down on the existing concrete and).

-NO SAW CUTS put into the concrete to minimize cracking, despite the issue being brought up with him in person.

- NO ableflex (foam) used between concrete and brickwork on house to allow for movement, this can cause cracking in the concrete and/or brickwork (Which goes against Australian Standards).

- PUDDLES - water pools in an area that should slope down to the drain, but doesn’t.

- Concrete was poured right up to the fence (again no able flex to allow for movement to mitigate potential cracking), covering a potion of the lower part of the colorbond, voiding the warranty of the colorbond and will in turn cause deterioration of the colorbond AND.. if we ever need to replace the fence panels in future, we’ll have to rip up some of the concrete to do so.

- HOLES put in my driveway and not patched up (footprints on driveway too so that now also needs re-colour sealing).

- Drains are some sloppy and messy.



And this doesn’t even cover everything. I couldn’t more strongly NOT recommend New Finish Concreting.
