Do I need to bring anything along with my dog?
Index
When taking your dog to their dog accommodation, think of it like checking them into a pet hotel or resort and pack accordingly. Food is generally provided in most packages and food will only need to be provided if your dog has special needs.
Pack for the weather
If your pet suffers from the cold and usually wears a jacket or jumper make sure you pack that if they are “holidaying” during cold weather. You should always ensure that these items are clean on arrival and are clearly marked with your dog’s name. Most dog kennels provide all bedding and toys, but if you do take your dog’s make sure they are clean and are also clearly marked with your dog’s first and family names.
Toiletries
You will need to be provide evidence of all vaccinations. If you dog is on any medication then make sure these are clearly marked with their full name and with clear instructions. If your dog has had any recent injuries or surgery or has any recurrent conditions that don’t currently need medication, make sure you leave details of these as well. Always leave your vet’s name and number just in case the pet accommodation staff need to check something in your pet’s medical history. If your dog has a history of fretting or displaying anxious behaviour when in dog boarding kennels, don’t forget to speak to your vet or local pet supplies store about products that can help make your dog’s stay more relaxing.
