Having arrived here in Tasmania at the busiest time of the year we thought we would have to wait weeks before getting our dogs flown over from Adelaide. Luckily we found Best Friends Pet Resort! Barrie and Jean did everything possible to have our dogs with us in the same state as soon as possible. They even rearranged things so that they could be kept in the same kennel and run for the least amount of disturbance. We were able to visit and even take our dogs out for the day with us so that we were together as much as possible while we were looking for our permanent accommodation. When returning the dogs each day, they were excited and happy to see the staff, which speaks volumes! It was their home away from home. We will most definately be recommending Best Friends Pet Resort to anyone who needs their fury family members looked after and we will be using them anytime we need to in the future. How to prepare for dog boarding

Going out of town can be a difficult time for your dog. Make sure you and your dog are both ready for dog boarding before you send your dog to the dog kennel.

Be sure your dog is up to date on vaccinations and treatments before taking him or her to the kennel. Companies often ask for vaccination proof and might not take in your dog if he has fleas or other problems.
Double check that you have your pet’s medication and any special food if required. Also give your dog boarding kennel your vet’s number and contact information.
Consider your dog’s ability to respond to basic commands and whether he is well socialised both with people and other dogs.
Finally don’t forget to have an awesome trip, knowing that your dog is in safe and capable hands.
