FAQs
MB Stonecare is carefully blended to work with natural material, not against!! Maintenance & preservation of natural materials is a little different to standard materials that you may be familiar with. The difference is mostly in the cleaning agents you use. Natural material - especially calcite based stone like marbles have a delicate chemical composition & may interact strangely with a cleaning product not formulated.
Aacken product line continues to grow, updating to newer models to produce new & more helpful equipment. Aacken products include, A- frames, slab lifters, glass lifters, self locking trolleys, forklift jibs, transport frames, wet saws, mortar mixers just to name a few. Aacken products are simply stronger than the competitor, one look and you can tell, made to last, stronger and safer.

Most of the kitchen and bathroom tops in Perth are usually made from 20mm thick material and to make the 40mm thick edge they simply double up the material on the edge or over hang. As a general rule 20mm thick granite will weigh approximately 60kg per square metre.
As a general rule 300mm is the maximum over hang that you can have, anything over this will require steel / timber frame or corbels to help support the top.
No the main difference is what it has cost me to get it to you. Some materials have easy access & very close to shipping ports, some are in the middle of nowhere & our trucking cost is higher. The extraction costs also for some mines are more than others & when materials are being processed the recovery or yield from the block can vary adding & lifting the price. Also if there is more than one mine or owner of a colour, competition takes over & we can barter for the best price.
Not all materials need to be sealed as they all have different absorbency rates & porosity. The lighter colour the more chance you need to seal. The best way to find out if your top needs to be sealed is to put a little water on it, wait for 5 minutes & if the colour changes it may need to be sealed or re-sealed. Colours like Jet black or Galaxy Black are a waist of time but colours like Kashmir White could definitely benefit from some sealer. If you are not sure ask your stonemason or us.
Yes you can seal your investment yourself; a good quality sealer like MB Stonecare (MB4) will do the job as itâ™s a great all rounder. Please follow the instructions on the bottle, but it is basically clean your tops or surface as you don't want to seal in any stains, wipe on the sealer, allow to soak in & they wipe off any residue. Depending on the porosity of the material 1 or 2 coats maybe needed. For newly laid tiles please allow 1 to 2 weeks & to be totally dry before sealing.
No, no one has control over thermal expansion or shock. Natural granite will handle heat changes. As a general rule if you attempted to pick it up then please put it down on a trivet or the granite, before you burn yourself.
