No, if you are a private patient seeking physiotherapy treatment, you do not need a referral from a doctor - just call and make an appointment straight away. However, if you are seeking treatment via an insurance claim through workers compensation or motor Vehicle accident claims or are seeking treatment via DVA (Department of Veteran Affairs) or Medicare, you will need a doctor’s referral requesting physiotherapy treatment.
Yes, we accept and treat all clients. If you have a referral requesting physiotherapy and a relevant claim number, you can receive physiotherapy assessment and treatment under your existing claim. Our physiotherapist has the necessary insurance to treat DVA clients too.
Yes, our physiotherapists have provider numbers and are registered with and accept all major private health funds. Your rebate amount will depend on the type and level of cover. We have HICAPS facilities so you are able to claim your rebate immediately.
Yes, our physiotherapists believe in providing you with symptomatic relief and management as soon as possible. On your first visit, there will be thorough questioning about your presenting complaint, along with a detailed examination. A treatment plan will be devised and immediately commenced to give you quick relief using a variety of hands-on manual techniques. You may also be given a range of exercises and management strategies to continue at home.
Follow up treatment sessions are more than likely. Although our physiotherapists tailor each management and treatment plan to suit each client individually, follow up sessions are usually advised to evaluate the effect of the initial treatment, ensure that you are doing your self-management plan properly, further treat your symptoms, and progress your return to activity, work or sport.
No! Not by a long shot! At Archer St Physiotherapy Centre, we offer a range of quality, evidence based services including podiatry care, remedial massage, personal training, pilates, rehabilitation, home visit physiotherapy, hydrotherapy programs and return to work or sport plans.
Yes. Our pilates and fitness circuit classes have a maximum number of 8 people. Please call the clinic to receive our timetable and learn what spaces are available and reserve your spot in our classes. If it is your first time, it would be beneficial if you inform the physiotherapist prior to the class commencing so that you get adequate supervision
Yes. The physiotherapists are fully qualified with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Physiotherapy from Curtin University of Science and Technology. They are registered with the Australian Physiotherapy Board and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with full Police clearances. Our principal physiotherapist, Patrick Renner, has been working in private practice for nine years and believes in establishing a good level of rapport and trust with all of his clients
If you have an acute injury, suddenly hurt yourself or are in pain then most likely you need to see a physiotherapist. If you have symptoms such as inflammation, swelling, pins and needles, pain specific to an area or have limited range of motion then you should see a physiotherapist to address these issues.
Carlisle train station on the Thornlie/Armadale line is only a two-block walk from the centre. And there is a Transperth bus stop 14427 right outside the door, for routes 38, 284, 288 and 298. Our receptionist is also happy to call a taxi for you if you need transport after your treatment.
