FAQs
Whether it is new craft construction or the annual maintenance of your pride and joy, at Corsair Boats we are able to provide a comprehensive service to our clients.
The iconic Victorian Couta Boat and more recently Maine Style Lobster Boats have become the backbone of the steadily growing business.
The demand of bespoke Lobster Boats has presented an opportunity to combine traditional building methods with cutting edge technology resulting in the very best of both worlds. The hulls are strip planked using high-quality Western Red Cedar and then sheathed and vacuum bagged, creating an extremely rigid and lightweight hull. These boats are finished with the Awlgrip paint system, which is widely recognised as the finest in the industry.
The materials used in the construction of the Couta Boats include Huon Pine or King William Pine for the hull and deck. We have a philosophy of quality over quantity. Cheaper imported species do not feature in Corsair hulls. These vessels are of a build quality equal to the best of the best worldwide and have gained substantial interest from the Australian and European market.

The SmartBoat system comprises a master unit and two antennas (GPS/GSM). The main wiring loom is designed to interface to systems onboard and provide the essential monitoring unattended boats require. The unit requires 7-36 Volts making it ideal for any vessel and its tiny current draw means it will have little or no impact on your onboard batteries. With the optional solar kit, it will run forever.
All essential systems on your boat are monitored. SmartBoat can be configured to provide real-time alerts via Email / SMS or to simply log and monitor the information coming from your vessel. With the option to “Snooze” the system while you are onboard, all alerts are disabled but the unit continues to monitor vital systems. Optionally the unit can be linked to our 24×7 control room for a complete piece of mind!
The night vision camera is what really gives the SmartBoat system the edge! By default, it’s programmed to take a shot every half hour uploading the picture immediately to the SmartBoat website. It’s also configured to snap a shot if the security system on your boat is triggered. Images are stored on our server so you will always have access to the latest shots.
