FAQs
The business now employs three local tradesmen and undertakes a wide range of work for local builders, schools & local shire and the general public. By keeping the business small, the same quality and detail of work and service is able to be produced, as in the formative days of the business. As a smaller business, it also means that I, as the owner, am able to maintain the reputation that Kustom Kitchens has received of producing high quality workmanship.
When planning any renovation, design and preparation are just as important as construction. Most customers have a very specific idea of how they want their kitchen to look and function. We can use our software to ensure we produce a balanced kitchen, with correct proportions for the room it sits in. We can then introduce your preferred colour schemes and tweak the design to suit if required. This ensures the customer, my workers and all other trades involved, have a clear picture of what we are working to achieve.
Quality workmanship, efficient and practical design and great service are all qualities which are principal elements in Kustom Kitchens. Impressive cabinetry is essential, but Kustom Kitchens also prides itself on listening to customer preferences, the ability to suggest fresh ideas, designing practical cabinetry, organising and liaising with other trades to keep your project flowing efficiently.
To discuss your cabinetry requirements, or arrange a site measure, please call, and arrange a visit our showroom in Fitzgerald Street.

No, we do all types of cabinetry for every room in the house.
If the condition of the original kitchen is good, and you are happy with the layout, we can update certain parts of the kitchen to reflect current trends. For Example, If your doors and drawer fronts are in good condition, we could do a laminate or stone overlay on your benchtops and fit a new glass splashback or tiles.
We can arrange an appointment after you finish work, or on the weekend if that suits you better.
Yes, we can. We can do as much or as little as you want. Some customers want us to organise everything to take some of the stress out of renovating, while others enjoy the challenge of co-ordinating the trades and keeping a close eye on the progress of their renovation.
We offer a full design service. We can provide full colour photo quality 3D images of the proposed kitchen along with 2D plan and elevation drawings, showing all dimensions. We can even measure it out in place if that helps you visualise your design. Colours and materials can all be selected in our showroom at 74a Fitzgerald Street, Portland, and we can demonstrate the type of hardware we use and pull out wire ware options available. We will also show you the workmanship you should expect.
Lead times will vary depending on the scope of work for your job and our workload at any given time. Generally, for new kitchens, it will be no less than 3 weeks. A good rule of thumb is 5-6 weeks. It's best to call and enquire and it always pays to give as much notice as possible. Once the existing kitchen is removed, it will generally take 5 working days to have your new kitchen installed and working.
No. We often fit kitchens while our clients are away on holidays, or at work.
We usually have the customer arrange the purchase and delivery of their own appliances. However, we do work closely with our local suppliers, and we can arrange the supply and delivery of all appliance requirements.
