FAQs

  • Do I need a referral from my doctor to see a podiatrist?

Referrals are not necessary, but if you have one, please bring it to your initial consultation. Even if you have not seen a podiatrist before, you are welcomed to simply ring and make an appointment to see the podiatrist. If you have a chronic condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure, you may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare Australia, however you must ask for a Medicare EPC Care Plan referral for podiatry from your GP prior to be eligible.

  • I have private health insurance, will I be able to use my insurance for claiming rebates for podiatry treatments and orthotics?

You can use your private health to claim a rebate on most of our treatments and orthotic therapies, however the exact eligibility and rebate payment amount is determined by your own private health fund and your policy cover. For your convenience, all of our clinic locations have HICAPS instant rebate claim facility available where you may claim on the spot right after each treatment, and simply pay the gap if necessary.

  • What should I bring to my first podiatry consultation?

If you have any recent foot scans such as X-ray or other test results, list of current medications, or a referral letter from your doctor or allied health professional, then please bring them along to your first consultation. Also please bring a pair of your current footwear for further assessment, as this will help your podiatrist gain a better understanding of your foot condition. If you are wearing any foot or ankle brace or innersoles, then please also bring them.
