Mill Park is a north-eastern suburb of Melbourne, approximately 23km from the CBD.

The area is named after the ‘Mill Park’ property owned by Henry Miller. Miller bred race horses and operated a dairy and grazing business which employed over 70 people, a substantial business in the mid 1800s. Mill Park’s rural landscape was largely unaltered until the 1960s, apart from the opening of a quarry in 1964.

Subdivision commenced in Mill Park during the 1970s, following similar development in Bundoora. During the 1980s Mill Park underwent rapid residential development, with State and church primary schools, a State secondary college and recreational facilities. The RMIT Bundoora East Campus is inside Mill Park’s border, and the Bundoora West campus just outside.
