Yes, we do.
The repair of a chip or crack in your windscreen or the replacement of windscreen or windows may be covered by your comprehensive vehicle insurance policy. At Ballarat Auto Glass we direct bill insurance claims making the process easier for you.
Just look around and see if there is anything that might crack your windshield. If you see a semi-truck pulling off a gravel road - avoid it. If the grater just put gravel down - slow down and give more space between you and the next car. And last but not least, if you do get a rock chip or crack, come on in so we can repair it for you and save you the cost of a whole new windshield.
We will most of the time be able to provide you with same day service.
Yes it can but the older the crack or chip the more likely it is that water and dirt have penetrated it, which will result in a repair that is not as good as one on a new crack or chip. Sometimes your windscreen cannot be repaired depending on the location and the severity of the damage, and must be replaced.
Yes, we can cut flat laminated glass, but we can’t put holes in it, ie latch holes.
Modern windscreens are made with laminated glass comprising of two layers of glass held together by a PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayer. When a windscreen is damaged, it is usually the outer layer of glass affected so it is safe to drive the vehicle unless the damage is severe. However, if the windscreen chip is not repaired, it may get worse and spread due to vibrations when driving or temperature changes.
No we also service retail customers.
