FAQs

  • Who will I speak to in the office?

Emma and Lisa are friendly, efficient, professional and ready to help however they can.

  • How can I make an appointment?

Appointments are usually made by phone following receipt of a referral emailed, faxed, sent or delivered from the referring general practitioner or medical specialist. Registration forms are posted to new patients and are to be returned by email, fax, post or delivered prior to the initial appointment. If the referral suggests that it is most efficient to schedule an investigation in hospital and meet you then, this will be offered to you.

  • Do you provide Medicare rebates?

A current referral is necessary to claim maximum rebate for consultations from Medicare and general practitioners will not provide back-dated referrals.

  • Do appointments keep to a strict time?

Ringing the practice just before appointments is advised as the nature of surgical practice often leads to unavoidable delays.

  • What do I need for radiology?

Please remember to bring all current and relevant old radiology films to your appointments and take relevant old radiology films to future radiological investigations for comparison.

  • What if I need a second opinion?

If you are seeking a second opinion regarding a diagnosed problem, results of all investigations need to be provided beforehand for proper consideration. You of course are quite welcome to seek another opinion after being seen here and results of investigations performed will be provided on request to another doctor.

  • Do you have a privacy policy?

Your privacy is protected and personal details, diagnoses and results will only be shared with other health professionals necessary for your comprehensive care.

  • How does payment work?

Outpatient consultation fees are not paid at all by private health funds and are to be paid in full on the day of consultation, with some Medicare rebate claimable afterwards. Quotes for surgery are provided pre-operatively and accounts for privately insured patients will be sent directly to their private health fund post-operatively and an account for the gap that is not covered by their fund will be sent to patients directly for prompt payment.

  • I'm uninsured, when do I need to pay for surgery?

Uninsured self funding patients will be required to pay their account in full prior to surgery and this will be held and not banked until surgery is performed.

  • How can I contact you?

Please call us on the number listed above to book an appointment.
