No, any person can see a podiatrist and you do not require a referral unless you are a DVA card holder or you are under an EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) plan in which case a referral from your GP is required.
Yes, most private health funds cover podiatry treatments. Levels of cover vary between funds. Call your individual fund to find out your specific rebates. For your convenience we have HICAPS available for on the spot claiming.
At Bryce Sturman Podiatry we look beyond the obvious symptoms of your foot condition to identify the structures and processes involved that lie at the root of your foot problems. We have a special interest in foot manipulation & acupuncture to provide orthotic free treatment options for many foot problems. In some instances foot orthoses are required, however there are many different kinds of orthoses. If required, it is important that you are properly assessed by a Podiatrist.
