Cheshire Contractors owns and operates all of our machinery. We take great pride in keeping our plant in good working order and conduct all maintenance from routine to major rebuilds in our cairns workshop. Cheshire Contractors also operates its own low loader to enable machinery to be shifted as required. Our machinery is complemented with our fleet of 30 vehicles for servicing, supervisors, foremen and construction crews.

We have worked all over Queensland from Aurukun in the Cape to Toowoomba in the South East and continue to service the entire state. We've recently also commenced works interstate.
For the past 34 years we have specialised in civil construction, earthmoving and heavy machinery hire. However, times of global economic uncertainty and instability have forced us to expand and diversify. The turf construction industry in one that is somewhat new to the organisation yet one that we are approaching with the same level of commitment, reliability and integrity and realising success.
Yes, we do. Cheshire Contractors are equipped with the latest in GPS 3D grade control systems, SPS total stations and precision lasers. The GPS 3D grade control system fitted to earthmoving machinery allows for greater accuracy in excavations and reduces the need to have grade checkers or survey stakes installed which increases our productivity. Our leadership team (supervisors & foreman) and relevant operators are qualified and experienced in reading, understanding and utilising these systems.
Cheshire Contractors operates under an Integrated Management System (IMS). Our IMS was implemented in May 2009 and is compliant with AS4801 AS/NZ/4804 Health and Safety Management, ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management and ISO9001:2008 Quality Management. Our IMS is regularly reviewed and updated to remain compliant with the above standards and regulations and has completed an internal audit with the Civil Contractors Federation.
