About Victoria Point Chiropractic

AT A GLANCE
  • Chiropractors & Massage Therapists
  • Professional & Reliable
  • Health Fund Rebates Available
  • Convenient Location With Off Street Parking
  • Effective Therapies
Chiropractic comes from the Greek word Chiropraktika, meaning done by hand.
We have chiropractors with a diverse range of backgrounds and personalities. All have studied for a minimum of five years to complete university degrees. Victoria Point Chiropractic has experienced massage therapists working within the practices.

Your chiropractor will perform a series of tests and examinations to determine:

  • The cause of your problems.
  • Whether your problems will benefit from chiropractic care.

Chiropractors are trained to manage a broad range of neuromuscular skeletal presentations and are equipped with a broad range of approaches to appropriately treat and manage such conditions in the general population. The most common presentations are headaches, neck pain, neck and shoulder pain and the long-term effects of whiplash injuries, postural fatigue, low back pain and spinal disc conditions.

Our purpose is to assist you, your family, your friends, and the community in attaining, regaining, and maintaining the health of your musculoskeletal system. We aim to do this in a warm, friendly, and caring environment, in a spirit of cooperation with our patients and the other members of their healthcare support network.

We aim to educate our patients in the understanding of and the importance of improving and maintaining their physical health and the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease prevention.

We also encourage all of our patients to take a proactive role in their health and to focus on prevention in all aspects of their health care, be it in exercise, diet, cardiovascular health, injury prevention in sport or in the early detection of our major diseases through regular screening.

Some chiropractors have areas of particular care that they have a significant interest in such as sports injuries in all age groups, care of the elderly and maintaining functional mobility as we age. Please discuss with any of our staff or professionals who may be the best suited to take care of your needs.

All our health care practitioners respect the expertise of other health care disciplines and will therefore readily refer to and work cooperatively with radiologists and all medical practitioners, dentists, optometrists, podiatrists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, dieticians, and other health care professionals. We recognise that in complex health care none of us has all of the answers and that a multi-disciplinary approach is about achieving the best possible outcomes for those under our care.

FAQs

  • What qualifications are required by chiropractors?

Becoming a chiropractor requires a five-year full-time university education with an emphasis on the biological sciences. Their education emphasises neurology, diagnostic imaging, physiology, spinal adjusting techniques and clinical subjects. Chiropractors are comprehensively educated in Australia at universities in Melbourne (Royal Melbourne Institute Of Technology), Sydney (Macquarie) and most recently, Perth (Murdoch).

  • Who can see a chiropractor?

Chiropractors are trained to treat all manner of people. A thorough history is taken and an appropriate physical examination performed before any treatment is recommended or given to any new patient. Please call us to know more.

  • Why see a chiropractor?

Headaches, back pain, and stiff necks are common reasons for seeing a chiropractor; however, more and more people are requiring preventative care as they find they maintain better health and have less down time from work and play.

  • What payment options do you have?

We accept a variety of payment options including cash & most credit/debit cards through our EFTPOS facility. In order to maintain our fees at or below those recommended by the Chiropractors' Association of Australia, payment is expected at the time of service.

  • Are private health fund rebates available?

All private health fund members are eligible to claim remedial massage therapy & chiropractic benefits.

  • How much does it cost?

Without the information provided by a preliminary examination, this is very difficult to answer. Generally, you'll find chiropractic care is far less costly than continuing with poor spinal function and its associated health problems. Please directly contact Brisbane CBD, Cleveland or Victoria Point if you have queries related to fees.
