King's Christian College is a non-denominational, co-educational Christian school. Our early learning centre (Noah's Ark Childcare & Pre-School Centre) accepts children from 2 years of age and prepares children for a smooth transition into their schooling years. King's Christian College provides young people with the opportunity to lay the foundations for a successful adult life.

Use Of Technology

We are leaders in the use of technology in the classroom. Each student from year 6 - year 12 takes part in our 1:1 laptop program, while those in younger years have access to iPads, MacBooks and iMacs.

We use technology where it enhances the delivery of the curriculum. Our students produce amazing work on their devices. Of course, there are still some things that still need to be taught and learnt the 'old fashioned' way.

Innovative Curriculum

There are many areas where King's Christian School programs are innovative and ground breaking. Our industrial design and technology department is one such area. Visit our website to see the latest work from our students.

Examples might include the digital manufacturing marine challenge or the 3D redesign of our middle school area.

Character Development

It has been said that qualifications will get you a job, but it is your character and attitude that will determine how successful you are.

At King's Christian School, we place priority on the development of our students' character. It is our belief that every student can be a leader in his/her field due to the strength of their character.

Each student is encouraged and given the opportunity to lead, to serve, to develop the attitude and character that will lead to future success.

FAQs

  • Do you have specific intake times or grades?

You are able to apply for enrolment at any time for any year level. Acceptance of an application will depend on a number of criteria including vacancies in the particular year level applied for.

  • My child is eligible to start prep next year. Am I too late to enrol?

At King's, we operate a pre-prep year. These classes are for children in the year prior to starting prep and prepare children socially and emotionally for starting school - as well as teaching them foundational literacy and numeracy skills and allowing them to become accustomed to the school environment. Typically, pre-prep classes are full, which then lead onto full prep classes. If you wish to enrol in the primary school at King's, we strongly recommend that you enrol into pre-prep.

  • What grade does high school start?

High school begins in Year 7. We operate years 7 - 9 as middle school and Years 10 - 12 as a senior school. Years 7 and 8 operate as a two-year academic cycle. Over these two years, students will rotate through a wide range of elective subjects before narrowing their subject selections for year 9 and then finally choose the subjects they will focus on for their senior years.

  • Where are you located?

We have two campuses in the Gold Coast City in Queensland. The first campus is centrally located at Reedy Creek. Here we have a childcare centre, pre-prep, primary school, secondary school and a trade training centre. The second campus is at Pimpama - in the fast-growing northern end of the Gold Coast City. This campus opened in 2015 with childcare, pre-prep and primary school (prep - year 3) in 2016, year 4 will open and an extra year level will be added each year until year 12.

  • What is your trade training centre?

The trade training centre at Reedy Creek is designed for students in years 10 - 12 who, rather than taking an academic path, wish to pursue a trade for their career. It allows students to stay in a school environment, study English and Maths to achieve a year 12 certificate of education, but at the same time study towards a trade qualification of their choice. They also have the opportunity to begin an apprenticeship and work one day per week in the industry of their preferred trade.
