What is GVM?

The GVM weight (Gross Vehicle Mass) is the total tare weight plus the load to be carried.
What does Tare weight mean?

The Tare weight is the self weight of the trailer.
What load can a trailer take?

A single axle trailer un braked has a GVM of 750kg. By adding brakes to the single axle trailer increases the GVM to 1450kg. A dual axle trailer starts at 2000kg GVM with a front axle brake. Dual axles can be rated up to 4500kg GVM with special conditions.
