Independent surveys show on average 34,000 homes each year are attacked by termites. Unfortunately, the average cost of damage is $10,000. For this reason, you cannot insure against termite damage.
Termites are active throughout mainland Australia with homes in Queensland at particularly high-risk due to the hot, humid climate.
Early detection and treatment of activity is vital to minimising the damage termites may cause. We recommend yearly inspections of your home and property by our experienced pest controllers. For existing problems, we have a range of termite treatments and baiting systems and can advise you which the most appropriate option is.

Underground termites are active throughout Australia. You cannot see them, in fact you rarely hear about them, but termites cause more damage to homes each year than floods, fires and storms combined. According to the CSIRO 1 in 5 homes will encounter termite damage. Termites cause $750 million damage per annum Australia wide.
No, it is not. Most home insurance policies specifically exclude damage from termites. So you will have to pay for damage caused by termites. Remember the average cost for repairs for termite damage is approximately $7,000. This is why having regular termite inspections and treatments is so important.
The termites that cause most damage to homes live underground. Their food is cellulose in its many forms. In natural conditions that means trees. Termites search underground for food - old wood or old trees or get into the roots of new or dead standing trees and into their core. It is during that search that termites find your home. The danger is always from underground.
Termites will attack any material containing cellulose, which is generally found in timber. Termites will enter a house unseen and will attack and destroy timber wall frames, roof timbers, bathroom cabinets, kitchen cupboards, timber door frames, electrical wiring, carpets and even furniture and books.
