Our focus ensures that all our practitioners are up to date with the ongoing changes to family law in Australia.
We offer a no-obligation initial consultation at a reduced rate, for up to 90 minutes with one of our solicitors. The initial consultation provides the opportunity for you to explain your situation and what you feel you need help with. We can answer your questions and let you know where you stand, and where things might progress from there. Often issues can be resolved with advice provided in the initial consultation, or you can engage us to assist you with more complex matters.
If you choose to engage us for your matter we will provide you with a retainer and cost agreement and open a file for you. We will then create a case plan, and move forward based on your instructions. At each step along the way you will be kept up to date with the progress of your matter, and provided advice as to which directions are feasible to progress in.
The collaborative process is a shared binding commitment to avoid going to Court. The goal is to identify the underlying needs of both you and your former spouse, and explore all the alternatives that might be available to meet those needs. Experts can be involved such as social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and counsellors in parenting cases. Or in financial cases a valuer, accountant, or financial advisor can be involved.
The simple answer is yes, I do. The way that I practice, and by extension my firm, is that we want to help people resolve their problems. We don't make decisions for our clients, but we do aim to provide them with as many options as possible so they can make informed decisions.
"What I like about Family Law Group is the personalized service you get - that's not always the case at other places."
