Yes. Glass thickness varies in size dependent on its use, as to which you will need. Standard glass can be 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and thicker. Mirror on the other hand are either 3mm, 4mm or 6mm.
Both are an A grade safety glass. Laminate glass is a stock item and can be cut and processed usually on same day. Toughened glass has to be cut to size and then made into toughened glass and cannot be altered once it is processed. You would have to allow 5 working days for this. Laminate glass is generally used in sliding door replacements and shop front windows where they need a fast turnaround.
We are required by law to install safety glass to meet the Australian Standards. The most common areas where safety glass is required is in bathrooms, doors, sidelights, pool and balustrade areas.
Any Dulux paint colour. There are two options of glass to use depending on the colour you choose. Clear float glass has iron in the glass and therefore has a “greeny tinge” to it or Low Iron glass which is a clear glass with no iron in it. For example, if you paint white on clear glass, it will appear as a greeny white colour. If you paint white on a Low Iron glass, it will appear as white. Depending on the colour you choose will determine which glass you would need to use.
