From their CPR Staircases moved to a factory in Warners Bay in 1978. The business grew steadily for the next 11 years. It was in 1996 that the name CPR Staircases began.

FAQs

  • What is the design and construction process of constructing a staircase?

The design & construction process of constructing a staircase generally involves 5 main steps: On-site measure or plans sent to our office, staircase components selection & quotation, stair design & layout, manufacture, installation. We are only too happy to ensure you get exactly what you desire. It will be your home & possibly the focal point on your home. CPR Staircases has installed thousands of stairs & understands the process. We like to make it as seamless for the client as possible.

  • What are the benefits of closed rise, closed string stairs?

This is the most common form of staircase due to appearance and price. It has a closed rise that allows you to build cupboards underneath for extra storage. It could be a place to store exercise bob and bits.

  • What is the benefit of closed rise, cut string stairs?

There are many different types of cut string closed rise, open rise & concealed cut. They all allow the tread and risers shape to be seen when viewed from a side angle profile.

  • What is the benefit of a continuous curved rail?

This handrail continues to the end of a flight of stairs. This means that it flows to the bottom stair. A continuous curved rail gives you the benefit of allowing your hand never to leave contact with the handrail down the full flight of the stair.

  • What are mono string stairs?

Its name says it all one stringer down the centre of the staircase and can only be made from timber or steel. A modern and contemporary style, the mono string is a more recent addition to staircase design than its counterparts.

  • What is the benefit of open rise, closed string stairs?

Designed to let light in, open rise stairs give a room the impression of being more open and larger in size without the stair being obtrusive.

  • What are external stairs?

Typically made from hardwood or treated pine timbers such as Merbau and Blackbutt. Generally, open rise rather than closed rise to prevent excess moisture and water pooling on treads. It is advisable for each tread to be designed in two-part to avoid timber bowing.
