That depends on the length of the grass; the type of land - steep ground takes longer; how long since it was last cut; are there lots of trees to cut round; how big an area - small paddocks take relatively longer because there is more turning. Under good conditions you can use 2 acres an hour as a guide.
Yes, Shortshank Pty Ltd is GST registered and issues Tax Receipts.
Not within 25 kilometres of Bellingen. Work outside that area is by negotiation and depends upon the size of the job.
No. I like to meet the property owner or their representative on site to give an informed estimate of how much a job will cost.
It depends upon the season and workload. I will give you a tentative date and will confirm nearer the time. And then there’s the weather - if we have lots of rain it can be too wet for the machinery as it will leave marks and create ruts.
For more than 40 years, sometimes part-time, sometimes full-time. I have worked on farms large and small in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. I have had my own tractors on my small farm for more than 35 years. I have been contract slashing in the Bellingen area for the past six years.
I prefer mulching as it chops up the grass and it returns to the ground quicker. Slashing is best for really overgrown paddocks with woody weeds. Slashing is also good if you want cut grass in windrows (strips) to pick up and use for mulch or compost. Mulching is usually a bit faster as the machine is a bit wider. Ultimately it is the customer’s call.
Bright green with hints of black and grey wheels. Very handsome.
