Welcome to St Peters, NSW
The suburb of St Peters is just 7km from Sydney’s central business district. It is situated within the Inner West Council local government area. The area takes its name from St Peters Anglican Church and has a population of nearly 2,900 people.
History
The church of St Peters is reputed to be the first that was built without the use of convict labour. It was consecrated in 1838 and is the third oldest Anglican Church in the Sydney area. Several notable people are buried in the church cemetery, and the building is on the National Estate Register.
By the 1870’s St Peters was established as an important brickmaking area with several large brickworks in the suburb. Following their closure after World War Two, they served as landfill sites until the 1890’s when Sydney Park was laid out on the site.
Lifestyle and Entertainment

There is a strip style shopping mall along the Princes Highway and the region is a mix of commercial and residential development.
Transport links in the area are provided by a railway station that is served by the Sydney Trains Network Bankstown Line and easy access to the [Princess Highway.
