Asbestos is a naturally occurring material that is found in rock fissures throughout the world. Due to its excellent fibrous properties, it was widely used throughout the construction industry for many years up until the late 1980’s.

Asbestos is found in building materials such as:

• Fibro sheeting
• Fibro roof sheeting including shingles
• Water and drainage pipes
• Vinyl floor tiles
• Roof and building insulation
• Vermiculite ceiling finishes
• Floor sheeting as compressed fibro
• Pipe heat insulation & many more

• Communicating with all parties throughout the processes
• Completing work according to relevant SafeWork NSW regulations, Australian Standards and codes of practices
• Encapsulating (or sealing off) the work area to eliminate asbestos cross contamination
• Issuing clearance certificates where required
• Disposing of waste at facilities licensed to accept materials containing asbestos
  

Non-friable asbestos

Non-friable is bonded together with another material such as concrete/vinyl. These products are the general building materials & are normally safe to the occupants unless disturbed in such ways as damage, drilling or removing.

Friable asbestos

Friable asbestos is one that's constructed without bonding materials. It's extremely hazardous & should only be handled by Worldwide Demolitions as we are experienced in the preparation & removal of all materials that contain asbestos.
