Tomas Leszczynski is the clinic’s Principal Osteopath and Owner, having taken over the practice from Michael Barwick in 2015. Tomas’ caring and professional approach in helping patients to move and feel better has been greatly appreciated. This increasing demand for quality treatment means that Tomas is currently looking for like minded practitioners to join his team.

What Is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a system of healthcare that assesses and treats musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

Treatments include soft-tissue techniques such as massage and stretching, as well as joint mobilisation and manipulation. This reduces abnormal strains from your muscles, joints & spine and creates a supportive physical environment that facilitates health and wellbeing.

What Else Do We Do?

Osteopaths are also trained in exercise prescription, rehabilitation and nutrition. As part of your treatment, you can expect some advice on posture, exercise and diet to help you prevent future problems.

With Osteopathy’s hands-on approach Tomas has successfully treated a broad range of people including babies, the elderly and serious athletes.

Areas Of Interest

Although Tomas has an interest in injury rehabilitation, strength & conditioning, and sports medicine, his passion lies in maximising how well we move our bodies, whether it be in daily life or on the sports field. As a result, his own interests include barefoot running, callisthenics, kettlebell training and martial arts.

Tomas believes that a good osteopath should use any and all available tools and techniques to help their patients.

FAQs

  • How long will my treatment take and what is the cost?

An initial consultation lasts approximately 90 minutes and costs $240. Follow-up consultations are approximately 30-40 minutes and cost $120.

  • Is treatment covered by private health insurance?

Osteopaths are covered by most private health insurance funds. To make sure that you are covered please check with your health fund. We have HICAPS facilities available for those with private health insurance so you can automatically claim your treatment on the spot and then only have to pay the gap.

  • Is treatment covered by Medicare where you bulk bill?

Osteopathic treatments are not bulk billed at this clinic.

  • Do I need a referral from my GP to see an osteopath?

No, a formal GP referral is not necessary. In fact, many patients are self-referred.

  • What should I wear?

Depending on the treatment you require, it may be necessary to change down to your underwear. We do supply gowns for females to wear. It is important that you feel comfortable and are able to move freely so you may wish to wear loose clothing. Once you are on the table you will be draped with towels where appropriate.

  • Should I bring in my X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans and ultrasound scans?

Any additional information you can bring will assist us to give you a more accurate diagnosis and therefore provide more appropriate treatment for your condition.
