Safer Drivers Course-Moss Vale, Mittagong & Bowral

APIA Safer Driving Course  provide the Safer Drivers Course in the Southern Highlands, Highlands Drive Safe delivers the Safer Drivers Course on behalf of APIA Safer Driving Course as their subcontractor. 

The course is in two parts (module 1) 3-hour theory session on safer driving behaviours, (module 2) in-car coaching session on low-risk driving strategies. The course gives learners 20 hour's credit in their logbook. 

Older Driver Assessments

Sue and Murray from Highlands Drive Safe are RMS accredited assessors. We can arrange an assessment time for you or a refresher lesson prior to your assessment if you wish to check your driving before sitting the test. Highlands Drive Safe gives you an alternative to sitting your assessment with the RMS. As accredited RMS assessors, you can be assured that we will provide a quality service and treat you with respect. Our assessors are also rehabilitation assessors.

  • Do you have trained professionals to conduct the driving sessions?

    Yes, we have trained professionals to conduct the driving sessions.

  • Do lessons count as 3:1?

    Currently, lessons taken with driving instructor up to a total of 10 hours will be counted as 3 hours for every one hour in your logbook. After 10 hours have been completed equalling 30 hours, any lessons taken will only count as one hour. We offer packages of 10 lessons at discounted prices for people wanting the equivalent of 30 hours in their logbook. See our web page for more details.

  • How can I access the free government Keys2Drive lessons?

    You can talk to us directly about registering for your free Keys2Drive lesson, as a platinum level accredited instructors we would be happy to register you for this lesson. See our website for details. The Commonwealth Government provide one free lesson for all Australian learners and their supervisors.

  • How do I book for the new safer drivers course?

    Call Julie directly on 0428 844 473 and ask for the next available date. Payment by credit card available. Details are available on our web page at www.highlandsdrivesafe.com.

  • What is the new safer drivers course?

    The course was developed by the NSW RMS and is a 5-hour workshop. It is in two sections (module 1) is a three-hour workshop on safer driver’s behaviour, then participants work in pairs to complete the two hours in car module. The course is completed in one weekend. Completing the course will give you a 20-hour credit in your logbook.

  • Can I use my own car?

    Yes, once you are confident in traffic, we are happy to take you out in your car. Many manual drivers prefer to use their own car as they are more familiar with the clutch and gears. Please talk to your instructor when booking.

  • What cars do you have?

    We have a fleet of Mazda 2's in both; manual and auto. The cars have dual controls and are fully insured and air conditioned for your comfort.

  • What do I need to do to book an older driver's assessment?

    Once you have completed your medical and had your medical form signed by your doctor, you need to lodge the form in at your RMS office. Then you can call us to book your assessment time and date.
