FAQs

  • How long does an eye examination take?

A comprehensive eye examination can take up to 40 minutes. The length of an eye examination can vary depending on what testing is required at the time.

  • How much does it cost to have your eyes examined?

Most of our eye examinations are Bulk Billed by Medicare, if you do not have a medicare card, you will need to pay $71.00 for a thorough comprehensive eye exam which not only includes a current prescription for spectacles but also a detailed health check for Glaucoma, Macula Degeneration, cateracts and many other important conditions of the eye which need to be checked regularly.

  • Do I need to make an appointment for an eye examination?

Yes, an appointment can be made by contacting our staff on (02) 4950 1482.

  • What is the best way to clean spectacle lenses?

Using a recommended optical spray and a micro-fibre cloth is the safest way to clean your optical lenses, never use methylated spirits or acetone as this will damage the lenses causing some materials such as polycarbonate lenses to crack and damage the lens completely. Never use hot or warm water on lenses especially lenses which have a Anti-reflective coating as this will cause the coating to craze and at times become bad enough to affect your vision through the lens.

  • Do you do Behavioural optometry?

Yes, Gabriel is a member of The Australian College of Behavioural Optometrists, and once the testing is complete a detailed report is sent to the school and teacher outline any specific and important information which was found in the behavioural examination.

  • Are you open on Saturdays?

Yes, we are open from 9am - 230pm and have a qualified optometrist to do eye examinations between 9am and 2:30pm, please see our trading hours for further details.
