FAQs

  • Do I need to empty my kitchen cupboards?

No, it’s not necessary to empty cupboards as we apply a gel to areas where cockroaches nest or harbor. No liquid sprays are applied to these areas.

  • What do I need to do prior to the pest control treatment?

Have no clothes on the clothes line. Close your windows and doors when spraying has commenced. Remove all light objects such as clothes, toys and bean bags away from interior walls. All food items should be cleared from bench and table tops. If a pet is on the property please remove the food and water bowls.

  • Is it safe for humans and pets to stay in my premises while you spray?

It is safe, but we recommend that you vacate your premises while the treatment is carried out and to ventilate the rooms thoroughly after completion for 4 hours before settling back in. There is no concern for the safety of animals since the amount of active constituent that they may take in, either by contact while it’s wet or by ingesting it orally, is very small.

  • Is pest control safe? What about infants, children and pregnant moms?

Yes, not all pest control treatments use pesticides and sprays. Depending on the pest and your circumstances, we can use methods that include physical changes to the environment and trapping. When we do use pesticides we select formulations and baits with the lowest toxicity available from the companies that research and develop as oppose to generic pesticides and apply these products where pests breed and live.

  • How often should I have a pest control treatment done?

Ideally and to prevent infestations, we suggest at intervals of no more than twelve months. Shorter periods may be recommended, according to environment conditions. If you are not inclined to have an annual spray for prevention then it simply comes down to your tolerance level with the associated pest of your concern.

  • Is there a warranty?

Yes, up to 8 months for some pests. It is dependent on the pest and the time period. In general, if you are still having the same pest related issues then I will come back to eliminate the pests.

  • What are the benefits of having a pest spray professionally as oppose to DIY?

Our treatment includes eradicating the pests of concern, preventive tips for the future and ongoing support throughout the year for any other pest related issues. The treatment includes using pesticides that are environmentally safe and up to ten times the volume of pesticide in the time you would spray from a hand sprayer. Targeting the hard to get to places where the home owner doesn’t like to venture to or know where the pests are harbouring.

  • What should I do if I find termites at my property?

The sight of termites at your property is a worrying experience. If you notice termite activity at your property, follow these steps: Don't disturb them and if possible try to put things back the way they were. Don't try to spray them or use chemicals on them. This will have a very limited effect and can scare them off for a while making it a lot more difficult for an expert to help you assess the situation.

  • How often and what is involved in a termite inspection & report?

We recommend that you have a termite inspection at least every 12 months. This will give you peace of mind that your property is protected. Prevention is always better than cure and typically damage caused by termites is not covered by your home insurance. Termite inspectors are equipped with scalable ladders, protective apparel, hi-beam torches, scribers, moisture meter and thermal camera.

  • What sort of damage do termites cause?

Termites will attack any material containing cellulose, which is generally found in timber. Termites will enter a house unseen and will attack and destroy timber wall frames, roof timbers, bathroom cabinets, kitchen cupboards, timber door frames, carpets and even furniture and books.
