Most aluminium windows are installed with a reveal being nailed into the stud work which is then bricked up to the window. Cedar windows are nailed through the stud work into the cedar frame.
The main benefit is that you don't have to paint or stain your aluminium window as you do with cedar.
This depends on your location. If you live outside a 7km radius of saltwater, normally between 6-12 months.
Unfortunately, no. Cedar is used as it is easy to work with.
A lamguard laminated glass is best for domestic applications as the interlayer is four times thicker than normal laminated glass.
There is a range of standard colour hardware available but if you require a special colour this is also possible. However, an extended lead time is required.
Frequency of painting or staining depends on a number of variables including the location of the cedar window. If it is in direct sun light it will require staining or painting more frequently. Similarly, the better the quality of the paint or stain used, the less often you need to apply paint or stain.
This depends on your constructions - check with your builder first before ordering.
A laminated glass is the best for an acoustic performance as it is the interlayer that prevents the noise entering through the glass.
This depends on the window you require and if you are using an acoustic seal. However, an awning window is normally the best.
