With over 50 colours in the range, Nucon Concrete's coloured-through concrete is a cost-effective and attractive alternative to the standard grey mix.
Use:
Coloured concrete can be used on its own or can be combined with contrasting or matching coloured aggregates and surface textures to create just the right look. It can be used in just about any new concrete structure including driveways, footpaths, patios, interior floors and tilt-up panels and columns.
Nucon Concrete's range of exposed pebbles and crushed aggregates is extensive. The finished appearance is beautiful and functional. Natural and crushed aggregates are sourced from across eastern Australia to give you the widest choice.
Use:
Naturally textured, exposed concrete is best suited to outdoor uses including footpaths, patios and driveways. The surface provides a degree of grip depending on the level of exposure chosen.
A maximum of 2 pebble colours is used in exposed concrete.

Australian Standards suggest that concrete should be utilised within 90 minutes of leaving the concrete plant.
Concrete is strong in compression (squashing) and weak in tension (stretching). The introduction of steel (reinforcement) in concrete improves the strength of concrete in tension. In a slab-on-ground, reinforcement increases the tensile strength and helps control the width of shrinkage cracks. If soil conditions are known to be poor, e.g. expansive clay soils, consult a structural engineer.
Bar chairs are placed underneath your sheets of 'Reo Mesh' to ‘sit the sheets of mesh’ up off the slab floor. With the majority of residential slabs being 100 mm deep the most popular size of bar chairs is 50/65 mm bar chairs. The concrete when poured then binds around the mesh for maximum tensile and strength.
Concrete is a mixture of sand, soils, aggregates (i.e. rock or stone), water and cement. Concrete trucks deliver the concrete already pre-mixed to your site. Simply prepare your slab and await the truck.
Yes, Saturday is an extremely popular day for individual homeowners to pour concrete.
Most concreters recommend laying crusher dust under the slab to smooth out the surface and provide a fill that allows the concrete to stabilise in an even manner.
