Considerations when providing personal safety workwear
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is anything worn or used to minimise risk to the workers’ health and safety. This may include boots, earplugs, goggles, respirators, safety shoes, hard hats and more. In industries such as construction, businesses may need to provide construction workwear to further protect their workers if things go wrong.
Generally, businesses should control hazards at the source. They should not rely on human behaviour or responsibility to minimise risks.
