How long is the repair process? After cleaning the glass pieces, a windscreen repair technician drills a hole in the glass to better allow the flow of resin when injected. The resin will seal the chip or crack, and will be cured and polished for clarity and strength. The process can take less than an hour and sometimes even half an hour.
Does it work? Absolutely, but there are still minor visible flaws. This is normally alright but if it obstructs your line of sight when driving then you should consider a potential screen replacement.
Is there a DIY solution? Yes, there is. A windscreen repair near you also sells repair kits complete with resin and injectors. However some things are best left to the professionals, especially as the resin can get messy and smudge the glass if you are not careful when applying it.
