Cowra Veterinary Centre is a mixed practice meaning we provide veterinary care for a mix of animal species - both small or companion animals (such as dogs and cats) and large animals (such as cattle, sheep and horses). The history of the practice goes back to the 1950s when the legendary Merv Foote started providing veterinary services to Western New South Wales from his base in Cowra.

Cowra Veterinary Centre

The wonderful veterinarians, Emma, Kellie and Peter have supporting staff who are definitely A plus - Adelie, Angel and Arden. All of these talented people truly understand what pet owners need. As well as the skills to thoroughly examine, diagnose and treat our animals, the well-being of the owners is always considered by all the staff. The new premises on Grenfell Road are even more welcoming than before. I am so very grateful for the many years of incredible attention my dogs and myself have received from these wonderful people. Their unbelievable generosity in both treatment and billing has given this 80 year old pensioner many years of joy. Sincere thanks from Chance, George, Lulu and especially dear little adopted (from Cath) Connie, the 15 year old Cavalier who was granted so much extra quality time, by these great people. Thanks too from the person who benefited most, Margaret Page.

Handy tips

Why vet clinics are important for your pets health.

  • Like humans, animals require regular checkups to keep their health in check. Veterinary clinics offer examinations, deworming, vaccinations, operations and treatment of illnesses. Ponder these points highlighting the importance of taking your pets to the vet hospital for frequent checkups.
  • In addition to physical health, vets are also experts in well-being, pet psychology, exercise and nutrition. This can extend into getting advice about training and lifestyles for your pets.
  • Pets age quicker than humans and their health deteriorates as they age. The frequency of check ups will be impacted by the species, age and activity level. Infant pets will require more checkups to ensure they are being given the required vaccinations. Vets will always give information about how to best care for your pet following treatment and medication, ensuring the quickest recovery from illness or injury.
  • The chances of recovery for any infection are higher the earlier it is detected and treated. Any change in your pets disposition and behaviour may indicate something is up.

Give your pet the best life you can by promoting the best health practices. Search our directory for veterinarians near you.
