Questions to ask when choosing swimming lessons

Swimming lessons are literally a life-saver—they can significantly reduce the risk of drowning. While one can learn swimming even as an adult, it is recommended for parents to start early and register their kids for infant swimming lessons. Here are a few questions to ask a swim school before you take up swimming classes near you:

What are the certifications of the swim instructors? Enquire if they are certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid, in addition to having formal swim instructor training.
Do they allow you to watch the swimming lessons? If you have enrolled your child for baby swimming lessons near you, you would like to see his/her progress. Any school should be happy to let you watch from a distance.
Does the swimming program teach survival skills first? A school should focus on teaching survival skills, such as floating on one’s back before training on swimming strokes.
