We had a fantastic experience selling our house with Tidbold Real Estate in a competitive and challenging market. The real estate uses a team approach to selling, doesn't charge additional marketing fees - only statutory commission but still markets properties through a broad spectrum of avenues (all the same places another real estate was going to make us pay extra for). Tidbolds lined up potential buyers quickly without waiting for buyers to go to them. We had an offer that we accepted within three days of listing in a competitive market. I put that down to a combination of realistic indications on price, proactive work by Tidbolds to show the house to buyers, team work by Tidbolds as at least one of the potential buyers was another agent within the same office's client and because our agent was on holidays but the house was still sold by another agent, and the agency having strong local presence. I particularly liked that potential buyers could see the house at any time by appointment, rather than having to wait for a brief open house (which seems to be so common with other agencies). The office support staff were a fantastic support during the contract-to-settlement phase. They knew their business so that I didn't have to wait until the agent was free (agents tend to be busy with showing people houses).

Don’t believe the hype of big real estate companies.

There’s no better way to find a real estate agent than to see them in action at an open house inspection. Ask yourself the following when checking out your prospective agent:

Are you comfortable with how the agent interacts with prospective buyers?
Were they proactive welcoming everyone or did they stand by the door?
Were they able to correctly identify the key features of the property for sale?
Did they leave you feeling satisfied when answering your questions about the property?
Did they follow-up with you after the inspection to gauge interest and provide further information?
Are you satisfied with the marketing of the current property listing the real estate broker is selling?
Did they have an X-Factor that allowed you to relax and feel comfortable talking to the agent?
