DIY plastering tips

If you’re looking to apply plaster that can protect and decorate your walls, we can help you out! Have a look at our tips and tricks to completing a successful plastering.

Apply two coats of plaster. Apply one very thin first coat to ensure the plaster sticks and is properly pushed into the wall. This will ensure it doesn’t fall off the wall later.
Have a good trowel. Proper plaster supplies will ensure the finish that you’re seeking.
Push hard. Make sure the plaster is flat with no bulges by giving the plaster lots of pressure.
Aim for flatness first, then holes, then external marks and smoothness. Focusing on flatness will ensure that you won’t need to add a thick layer later on with the finishing plaster.
Keep the layers thin. When plastering walls and ceilings, a thin layer minimises chances it’ll fall off later.
If things start to look sour, plaster repair services can be called early on to prevent further issues.
