Hi Dave, Molemap is a new service that is treated by Medicare like other allied health services; ie Dietician, Physiotherapy, Dental. Therefore it is not recognised by Medicare for payment. Private Health insurers like Buppa are being to include us in the Extra's packages. Our Melonpgrapher takes indepth images of your moles and sends them to a Dermaologist for analysis. (If you had to go to a dermatologist you would wait up to 3-6months and pay over $250). The Melonographer is not a doctor and cannot perform any form of mole removal or surgery. Your results are sent to you and your GP if requested and they can remove the mole for you under Medicare. I hope this information is helpful.
