The nursery at Impact Plants was started by us the current owners, Paul and Elizabeth Anderson in 1982 at the rear of our parent's home in Empire Bay. We started selling tropical plants at various markets and supplying rare palms and cycads to local and international collectors. We also hired out advanced tropical indoor plants to businesses throughout the Central Coast.

Handy tips

Easy-to-grow plants you can buy from a nursery

Don’t have a lot of time to spend on maintaining a garden? How about checking with your garden nursery for easy-to-grow plants? Here are a few plants you can place in your garden that require minimum maintenance:

  • Bougainvillea: This comprises hot pink, white, red or purple blooms that can add a splash of colour to your patch. This vibrant creeper loves the sun, is drought resistant and is perfect for growing over trellises and pergolas.
  • Clumping bamboo: This is a hardy choice if you want to fill in a small area and increase privacy. Ask the tree nursery for a clumping bamboo variety as it is easier to keep under control than the running variants, which spread quickly.
  • Rosemary: This is one of the most common plants found in Australian gardens. This Mediterranean herb thrives on very little water and can tolerate poor soil.

Don’t let your passion for gardening take a backseat due to a busy lifestyle. Enquire about plants that are easy to look after from your local nursery and beautify your garden. Browse our extensive listings for nurseries near you today!
