Handy tips

Some tricks to remember before you go to a car dealership

Ready to find a car for sale near you? Great! Make sure to keep the following tricks in mind to avoid overpaying for that new car deal.

  • Don’t be deceived by multiple rebates in the ads. You might think you can profit from multiple yet generally you’re eligible for only one.
  • Visit car dealerships near you at the end of the month. Car dealerships are more adamant to sell on the last days of the month because they have monthly quotas to fulfill. Take this opportunity to put a little more pressure on your negotiations.
  • Mention trade-ins only when the price is set. Letting them know of this information early will give the salesmen a new factor to play on the price of a new car. Once the price is set they won’t be able to do quirky math to confuse you.
  • Make sure that your trade-in allowance will not jack up your new car price. Car prices should be consistent.
  • Score a not so obvious discount. Car dealers prefer to sell cars in their own inventory. A good idea is to order the base-model car without the expensive features. That way, they’ll be willing to roll-back the price for the car with a richer feature in their inventory.

We’re here to connect you to car dealerships near you. Browse our online directory and start asking for quotes. Don’t forget to put these tricks to use!
