Hepburn Springs Motor Inn

We were fortunate to book the last room at the Hepburn Springs Motor Inn late on Friday afternoon and the manager kindly waited until we arrived after 6pm. He also helped carry and put our Engel fridge in the reception area to connect to 240 power for the night. Another kindness to us was to recommend an amazing restaurant, The Surly Goat, and make a booking for us. We were very grateful for his care and friendliness.

Handy tips

Difference between motels and hotels

Looking for a pocket-friendly place with basic amenities to break journey? Local motels can be a good option for you. Let’s have a look at why this can be a more viable alternative to hotels.

Motels provide basic and comfortable accommodation. They are usually located outside the central city area, yet they are close to or visible from main roadways. They generally cater to travellers looking for somewhere to sleep for the night, eat breakfast and continue their journey shortly after. Lower room rates make motels a suitable choice for the budget-conscious tourist.

Hotels, on the other hand, are normally situated in urban areas and are intended for longer stays. They have additional facilities, such as restaurants, room service and a range of other services for tourists or business travellers.

If you’re on a low-cost holiday and are searching for motels near your location, we can help you. Check our online listings for motels around you and book a convenient and cheap motel now!

Motels - Common Questions

What is a motel?

A motel is a roadside hotel designed to provide accommodation for passing motorists.

What is the difference between a motel and a hotel?

Hotels typically provide lodging to tourists and may offer a wider range of services or amenities such as a restaurant, spa and/or swimming pool. Motels are primarily aimed at motorists who are traveling long distances and need a place to rest or sleep on the way to their destination. In short, hotels cater to tourists or business travellers whereas motels provide more basic accommodation to motorists.

How to find cheap motels?

Motels are reasonably priced in most cases. However, we recommend planning ahead of your trip to secure the best deals. Obtaining quotes from a few motels then making a booking usually ends up cheaper than booking a room upon arrival.

What motels allow dogs?

Not every motel allows dogs and other pets. We suggest calling the motel or checking their website to find out.

Do motels have WiFi?

While not always guaranteed, nowadays it is safe to assume that a motel will have WiFi. The motel may charge a fee for WiFi access.
