We worked direct with UMG for our kitchen, pantry & laundry stone benchtops and bathroom vanity tops. They had an amazing range of stone brands to choose from including their own imported stone which is what we chose for our kitchen. Marble versus granite supplies. What’s the difference?

When choosing the material for your new countertop, sink or memorial; marble and granite stand out as beautiful and durable stones. One might wonder, which one should I choose? Read on further for a quick breakdown on the main difference between marble and granite.

In terms of durability, granite edges out marble in being less prone to chipping and stains. Hence, granite is often found in kitchens and cemeteries while marble is more commonly used for staircases and bathrooms.
From a cost perspective, both materials are similar. However costs highly vary depending on general appearance, colour and finish.
In terms of maintenance, granite is slightly better. For both materials, spills should be cleaned immediately and the material should be resealed once a year for marble, and once every two years for granite.
