Eastside Little Learners

Absolutely love Eastside Little Learners and highly recommend. The staff are so lovely, approachable and accommodating. Not only do they provide a great play and educational environment, they also give us advice when our children are pushing boundaries at home. Kathy G

Handy tips

Questions to ask when you are looking for preschools

A preschool or kindergarten allows children to acquire skills in areas such as communication, maths and problem solving early on, setting the foundation for their school and college experiences. Keep these questions in mind while exploring a kindergarten school near you:

  • Do they have adequate play activities? Physical activity not only promotes health and well-being but is also critical for the development of motor skills. Kindergarten should also expose children to fun tasks, such as stringing beads and snipping paper.
  • How do they handle discipline? Ask the teacher how he/she drives positive behaviour daily. For example, is there a reward chart in the classroom?
  • Is there naptime? Growing kids need to rest at some point during a busy preschool day so ask the teacher when naptime takes place. Ideally, naps should be scheduled at the same time every day and should not be more than two hours.

You will easily be able to narrow down kinder schools once you have received convincing answers to your questions. Why not view our extensive listings of the nearest kindergarten schools for your tiny tot?
