In order to help clear the fog, we’ve highlighted some key similarities and differences between hypnotherapy and hypnosis for you to consider.

Hypnotherapy and hypnosis both aim to communicate with the subconscious.
Generally, hypnotherapy is administered for the purpose of treatment in a clinical or medical setting whereas hypnosis is a state of mind that places emphasis on one’s attention and awareness.
Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to achieve a particular outcome or behaviour.
Hypnosis can be used for entertainment purposes.
Both hypnotherapy and hypnosis can be used for depression, weight loss and anxiety.
