The hearing aid receives sound from the microphone, amplifies the converted electrical signals and sends them to the ear through a speaker. There are two types of hearing aids: digital and analogue. Analogue aids convert sound waves into electrical signals. Digital hearing aids decode the sound waves into bits and bytes.
