  • Listen to the doctor. If you have an existing medical condition, you may need to take extra precautions.
  • Don’t skip warm-ups and cool-downs.
  • Start off small, then gradually increase the intensity or repetitions of an exercise.

  • Get a spotter for lifting weights, especially for those lifting barbells.
