With so many pieces of equipment to work with and people taking up racks and benches, it can be hard to set up a routine. To save yourself time and make your workouts more effective and safe, make sure to avoid the following mistakes.

  • Waiting for equipment or benches to open up.
  • Skipping the warm-up or cool-down can open you up to injury due to lack of blood flow.
  • Doing cardio before a big lifting session may fatigue you going into your lift. This can result in poor form or injury.
  • Not increasing intensity or number of repetitions of an exercise over time.
  • Not timing rest periods can stretch out your gym session far longer than necessary.
