How to select plants at a garden nursery?

Spring is a good time for adding new plants to the garden. • Look for pests and diseases. Pests like aphids or mites are usually hidden on the underside of the leaves or at the growing tips of the plants. Also, leave out plants with holes on the leaves, black spots or blisters.
• Examine the roots of the plant. Don’t choose a plant if its roots are soft, brown or easily fall apart when you touch or pull them slightly.
