How much does timber floor sanding really cost you?

When looking to liven up your dull timber flooring, a once over by the floor sander can dramatically improve the look and feel of the timber flooring. The first question most people might ask is: how much? Let’s go over the factors that affect price to give you a rough idea.

The type of timber flooring. For floor sanding and polishing of hardwoods, it is more difficult for the wood to be sanded away. This would lead to a higher cost.
The size of your floor. More floor area to be sanded equals higher costs.
How much preparation is needed for the floor to be sanded? Scratches and cracks should be fixed before sanding. Look to add putty to fill holes and scratches, as well as replace broken or rotten timber flooring.
The sealer or coating you want. If the wood already has a pleasant colour, you can skip the varnish and just get a protective polish.
